Thursday Night Commander

Event Details:
Date: Every Thursday!
Time: Starting at 6:30 PM
Round Timer: 70 Minutes
Location: The Mana Lounge London
Entry: $5 or free entry with a purchase of $5 or more!
Format: Commander
Style: Casual
How does it play out at The Mana Lounge on Thursdays?
We randomly sort players into tables for the first round, then for the second round players will be sorted into tables based on the amount of points they scored in the first round. This is to ensure fun and fair matches between players.
The player who scores the most points between the two official rounds will be awarded a FOIL PROMO PACK and additional non-foil promo packs will be raffled out among the other players depending on how many players sign up for the night. More players means more promos, so bring your friends!
For every six players who sign up, a promo pack will be raffled off among all participants.
For every three players who sign up, a random promo card will be raffled off among all participants.
What is Commander?
Commander is a Magic: The Gathering format where players build 100-card decks around a legendary creature, their "Commander." With a 40 starting life total, multiplayer dynamics, and a singleton rule, it fosters social interactions, strategic alliances, and diverse deck construction.
What makes Commander Nights special at the Mana Lounge?
There’s a points sheet to rank your gameplay! Players will lose points by doing things like taking extra turns, eliminating players too quickly, and destroying lands.
We also have a timer for the rounds, this ensures that everybody plays at least two rounds during the evening.
When do you divide people into randomized pods?
At 6:30 PM tables will be created for the first round and as soon as the score sheets are submitted to the front the second round players will be sorted into tables for round two.
What is Rule 0?
Rule 0 in Commander is the social contract, allowing players to customize game rules. It encourages communication, flexibility, and mutual enjoyment. Players can discuss and agree on house rules, fostering a more inclusive and enjoyable multiplayer experience.
When you stop by, be sure to bring some friends! That way you and your friends will receive an additional promo (while supplies last, one promo per person per day).
