Warhammer 40K Casual Crusade League

Welcome Warhammer 40k initiates and veterans! Our Warhammer 40k Casual Crusade is a fun opportunity for players of all skill levels!

Duration

12 weeks starting on Wednesday, June 19 @ 6 PM. Information sessions will be available on June 12th to learn about Crusade and get help with building your Order of Battle (OOB).

When to Play

  • Warhammer Wednesdays: 6 PM to 9 PM
  • Afternoon Play: Tables are open during the afternoons on weekdays. Call, hop on Discord, and book ahead!
  • Other Locations: Matches do not need to be played in our store.

What Do You Need to Start?

  1. An Army: At least 1000 points of models that fit into a legal Detachment. Players may add models up to 1000 points total to their starting Order of Battle sheet.
  2. Rulebooks and Hobby Tools: Rules for your army (data cards or app-based unit rules), a tape measure, and dice.
  3. A Great Attitude: Focus on having fun and helping newer players.
  4. Understanding of Crusade: Learn more about the format at the store on Wednesdays and get help with building your armies before the event starts.

Players may join the Crusade at any time during the event.

Painting Challenges

There will be bi-weekly painting challenges earning participants RP. More info will be provided after the official start date.

Cost

Entry can be purchased through the Mana Lounge for $20.

Prizes

Entries will be redistributed as prizes and store credit. Prizes will be awarded based on participation, with various types of prizes including:

  • Artisan: Best painted army by the end of the event.
  • Underdog: Players in the bottom bracket for win/loss ratios (selected via raffle).
  • Crusader: Players in the top bracket for win/loss ratios (selected via raffle).
  • Player’s Choice: Nominated by other players for being enjoyable to play with or learn from.
  • Raffle(s): Remaining credit or prizes will be awarded as door prizes to players who haven’t won any other prize.

Warhammer 40k Glossary & Abbreviations

  • Core Rules: 40k 10th Edition Core Rules.
  • Codex: The most recent version of your army’s rulebook.
  • Supplemental Book: Additional rules for some armies.
  • Model: A singular model that may be part of or an entire unit.
  • Unit: One or more models part of your army.
  • Army: The list of units you bring to a game.
  • Points: Cost assigned to a unit.
  • Detachment: A specific arrangement of unit allotments by unit type.
  • Victory Points (VP): Points awarded for completing mission objectives.
  • WYSIWYG: "What you see is what you get," used to ensure models have gear that properly represents what they have equipped.

Crusade Specific Glossary & Abbreviations

  • Order of Battle (OOB): List of units/models available to a player in the Crusade.
  • Crusade Card (CC): Details of a unit, including crusade-specific details such as Experience, Battle Honors, and Battle Scars.
  • Experience (EXP): Earned by units through matches, destroying models, completing agendas, and being marked for greatness.
  • Requisition Points (RP): Used for relics, warlord traits, and other benefits. Players start with 5 RP and can earn 1 RP per week.
  • Battle Honors: Rewards for units from completing mission objectives and ranking up through gained EXP.

Matches

Players can play each other once during the 12 weeks. Matches can be played at any time and location convenient for the players. If a player has played every other participant, they may get special permission to play additional or replacement matches.

Crusade Format

  • Using the 10th Edition Core Rulebook, Pariah Nexus Crusade book, army codex, and supplemental books.
  • Playing Incursion missions with armie
